IN the curious facts department...did you know that the tests used in brainspeed.com also have been used in academic studies, for example, at our nearby academic Pharos - Stanford?

Studies of aging adults looked at reaction time, what we might term brainspeed - and found interesting connections between the incidence of mild cognitive impairment and performance on the tests. The 'tests' are fun enough that they are more like games, yet serious science.

These results will be dicussed next month at the Alzheimer's Association International conference in Washington D.C. Thanks to the cool folks at Macromedia, this lighthouse of discovery may be propagated across the Internet
